Role Overview:

We are looking for a tax professional who is passionate about taxation and has a strong understanding of Indian tax laws, corporate taxation, and regulatory frameworks. This role involves managing direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and planning, including corporate tax filings, GST compliance, audits, and transfer pricing studies. The candidate will work closely with internal teams and external consultants, collaborate with Big 4 firms for transfer pricing, and ensure adherence to tax regulations while optimizing tax positions and minimizing risks. This position offers an opportunity to contribute strategically to tax planning and support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Tax Compliance & Filings: Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.), TDS filings, corporate tax returns, and advance tax payments. Maintain tax-related documentation and ensure compliance with Income Tax Act, GST regulations, and other statutory requirements.
• Tax Accounting & Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual tax computations, deferred tax workings, effective tax rate reporting in the financial statements (SAP), and tax-related financial disclosures.
• Tax Audits & Assessments: Handle Tax audits, and tax assessments, including coordination with auditors, tax consultants, and authorities. Work alongside a Big 4 audit firm to conduct a transfer pricing study and ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations. Respond to tax notices, queries, and litigation matters, ensuring timely resolution. Appearing before tax authorities and explain the case for the company.
• Tax Planning & Advisory: Analyze tax implications, identify optimization opportunities, and develop tax-efficient strategies. Provide tax inputs for business decisions, cross-border transactions, transfer pricing, and financial models. Ability to Assess tax health of the company.
• Indirect Taxation & Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation and reporting of GST liabilities, customs duties, and input tax credit reconciliations. Manage E-Way Bills, tax code updates in ERP, and SEZ-related tax matters.
• Process & Systems Improvement: Optimize tax-related processes, improve automation, and enhance tax governance. Maintain updated tax codes, ensure ERP system alignment, and support tax-related internal control mechanisms.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with procurement, finance, and legal teams, liaise with tax authorities and consultants, and support investor and management reporting on tax matters.

Expertise Required:

• Qualification: CA or CMA with relevant work experience
• 1 to 5 years experience in GST, Direct & Indirect Tax and tax compliances
• Excellent communication abilities
