Job Overview:
As an EBP Audit Senior Associate at Bahwan CyberTek, you will be responsible for leading the execution of audits for Employee Benefit Plans (EBPs) under US GAAP. This role requires strong technical expertise in auditing, accounting principles, and regulations associated with benefit plans. You will lead audit engagements, ensure high-quality service to clients, and manage junior team members. Additionally, you will assist clients with their accounting and financial reporting needs for their employee benefit plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead EBP Audits: Plan, execute, and finalize audits for employee benefit plans, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Client Management: Serve as the primary contact for client interactions and build strong, lasting client relationships while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and guide junior audit staff and interns, providing training and feedback on performance during engagements.
- Technical Research: Stay current on industry regulations, accounting standards (specifically US GAAP), and developments in employee benefit plan audits.
- Audit Documentation: Ensure the timely and accurate documentation of audit work papers and conclusions for the benefit plan audits.
- Financial Reporting: Analyze employee benefit plan financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and notes to ensure accuracy under applicable accounting standards.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate audit risks related to employee benefit plans and recommend effective solutions.
- Compliance Assurance: Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant auditing standards, including US GAAP, ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act), and DOL (Department of Labor) regulations.
- Project Management: Effectively manage multiple engagements and projects simultaneously, ensuring that audits are completed on time and within budget.
- Audit Strategy: Develop detailed audit plans, outlining procedures, audit schedules, and allocating resources efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or actively pursuing certification preferred
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in public accounting or a related field, specifically in Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) audits.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ERISA, and DOL regulations. Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office tools.
