Jira Consultant (Freelance)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled JIRA and Confluence Consultant to join our team and provide expert guidance on the implementation, customization, and optimization of JIRA and Confluence software. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both platforms' capabilities and be able to tailor their functionalities to meet the specific needs of our organization. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality configurations that enhance our project management, collaboration, and knowledge management processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on best practices for utilizing JIRA and Confluence software to streamline project management, collaboration, and knowledge sharing processes.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, user stories, and use cases for JIRA and Confluence implementations and customizations.
• Configure JIRA workflows, issue types, fields, screens, and permissions, as well as Confluence spaces, pages, templates, and permissions to align with business processes and project requirements.
• Develop custom JIRA plugins, scripts, and integrations using Atlassian SDK, Groovy, or other relevant technologies, and create Confluence macros, user macros, or custom plugins to extend the platforms' functionalities and address specific business needs.
• Integrate JIRA with Confluence and other third-party tools/systems to enable seamless data flow and collaboration between different platforms and teams.
• Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to end-users, administrators, and project teams to ensure they are proficient in using JIRA and Confluence effectively.
• Perform thorough testing of JIRA and Confluence configurations, customizations, and integrations to ensure they meet quality standards and perform as expected.
• Create comprehensive documentation including configuration guides, user manuals, and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer and enable self-service for JIRA and Confluence users.
• Stay updated on the latest features, best practices, and industry trends related to JIRA, Confluence, and Agile methodologies, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Extensive experience (Minimum 5 years) working with JIRA and Confluence software in a consulting or
• similar capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of JIRA and Confluence administration, configuration, and customization.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Groovy, JavaScript, or Python.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Atlassian certification(s) such as Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP), Atlassian Certified JIRA Administrator (ACJA), or Atlassian Certified Confluence Administrator (ACCA) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and Agile project management tools is preferred.
