Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with 6+ years of experience who is responsible for defining the product roadmap, managing the backlog, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. They collaborate with stakeholders, prioritize requirements, and work closely with development teams to drive product success and deliver value-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backlog & Story Writing:
• Drives a defined portion of the backlog.  
• Works independently to write stories, which are approved by the Product Owner or above. 
• Provides direct input to backlog prioritization and identifies stories to be worked in coming iteration  
• Acts independently to manage backlog for a single dev squad based on roadmap and release plan:  
• Determines which stories will be worked for a specific iteration.  
• Prioritization of backlog.   
• Accepts stories as done for review by Product Manager/Owner.

Leadership:

• Sets goals for iteration.
• Helps ensure that the team is productive in an agile environment.  

Solutioning:

• Participates in brainstorming and provides input on solutions. 
• Knows how to engage with UX; understands when UX is needed if not assigned.  
• Develops intimate knowledge of their product and how customers use it. 

Requirements Gathering: Requires accompaniment for requirements gathering with clients. Can meet independently with internal stakeholders.

Value Articulation:

• Defines the value being delivered.  
• Writes F/F/B for stories he/she works for approval by Senior Product Manager or above. 
• Develops release training and collateral to support stories he/she worked on. 

Domain:

• Brings strong analytical skills and relevant domain knowledge. 
• Can demo and interact with clients / users around the product and how they use it at detailed level  

Experience:

• 6+ years experience in the SaaS environment.
• Financial/Accounting background (ie chartered accountant that is now a PO and/or demonstrated understanding of accounting principles etc).
