Desktop Support Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware, and networks. Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. Provide technical assistance and support for desktop computers, laptops, and related hardware/software issues. Ensure seamless operation of desktop systems, related IT infra, resolve technical problems, and implement proactive measures to prevent future issues.

Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve desktop hardware, software, and networking issues via phone, email, or in person
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updating software, patching operating systems, and configuring devices, Install, configure, and test new hardware and software components.
• Analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions,
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, problems, resolutions and asset inventory management.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, end-users, and vendors. Implement proactive measures to prevent future issues, such as monitoring system logs and performing regular backups.
• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and security standards
• Provide technical guidance and training for end-users. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices.
• Support device network and connectivity issues and set up accounts and workstations.
• Configure and install various network settings and services, IP configuration, VPN connection, device security.
• Provide Level 1/2 support and troubleshooting to resolve Windows OS and application issues.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, supporting network and application on physical, virtual and cloud-based tools.
• Maximizes performance by troubleshooting network problems and outages and scheduling upgrades.
• Setting up, supporting Office 365, Google workspace, VPN clients, anti-virus, upgrades, firewall settings

Qualifications:

• Good communication skills
• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role, knowledge of system security
• Provide Level 1/2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
