Senior Resident - Cardiology

Here are some key responsibilities and activities associated with this role:

Patient Evaluation and Diagnosis: You evaluate patients presenting with cardiovascular symptoms, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, or fainting. You conduct thorough medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., electrocardiograms, echocardiograms, stress tests), and use your expertise to diagnose and stage cardiovascular diseases accurately.

Treatment and Management: You develop and implement treatment plans for patients with cardiovascular conditions, including medication management, lifestyle modifications, and interventions. This may involve prescribing and adjusting medications, recommending cardiac procedures (e.g., angioplasty, stenting), and coordinating care with other specialists, such as cardiothoracic surgeons or electrophysiologists.

Cardiac Procedures and Interventions: You assist in performing various cardiac procedures, such as cardiac catheterization, pacemaker implantation, or cardioversion. Under the supervision of attending physicians, you contribute to the procedural planning, execution, and post-procedure care, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Patient Monitoring and Follow-up: You monitor patients' progress during hospitalization, providing continuous care, managing complications, and adjusting treatment plans as needed. You also participate in outpatient clinics, conducting follow-up visits to assess patients' conditions, review test results, and provide ongoing management and education.

Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: You work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including cardiologists, nurses, technicians, and support staff. This collaboration ensures comprehensive and coordinated patient care, and it involves regular communication, participation in rounds, and involvement in case discussions.
