Aster Medcity is looking for Senior Resident Neurology to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey
Clinical Care: You evaluate and manage patients with a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, neuromuscular disorders, headache disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.
This involves conducting thorough neurological examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests (such as MRI, CT scans, EEG), and formulating treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Inpatient and Outpatient Care: You provide care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
In the hospital, you manage acute neurological emergencies, conduct consultations, and follow up on patients admitted under neurology services.
In the outpatient clinic, you perform initial assessments, provide ongoing care, and monitor disease progression in patients with chronic neurological conditions.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Neurology often requires collaboration with other medical specialties, including neurosurgery, neuroradiology, psychiatry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
You work closely with these specialists to provide comprehensive care and address the complex needs of patients with neurological disorders.
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures: As a Senior Resident, you may perform or assist with various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in neurology.
These may include lumbar punctures, electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), botulinum toxin injections, deep brain stimulation programming, and other specialized interventions.
Seizure Management: You are trained in the diagnosis and management of seizures and epilepsy.
This includes prescribing antiepileptic medications, evaluating patients for surgical intervention when appropriate, and counseling patients and their families on seizure management and safety precautions.
Stroke Care: Stroke is a common neurological emergency requiring prompt evaluation and treatment.
As a Senior Resident in Neurology, you participate in the acute management of stroke patients, including the administration of thrombolytic therapy (if eligible), stroke prevention strategies, and rehabilitation planning.
