Technician - Pediatric Cardiology

Patient Preparation: Prepare pediatric patients and their families for cardiac tests and procedures, providing information and ensuring their comfort and cooperation. Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG): Perform and interpret electrocardiograms to assess the electrical activity of the heart, identify irregularities, and assist in diagnosing arrhythmias and other cardiac conditions. Echocardiography: Assist in performing pediatric echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart) to visualize the heart's structures, function, and blood flow, helping to diagnose congenital heart defects, valve abnormalities, and other conditions. Stress Testing: Assist in pediatric exercise stress tests to assess heart function and monitor the heart's response to physical activity. Holter Monitoring: Apply and analyze Holter monitors, which are portable devices that record the heart's electrical activity over a 24- or 48-hour period to detect irregular rhythms. Blood Pressure Monitoring: Monitor and record blood pressure measurements in pediatric patients during clinic visits or procedures. Patient Care and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of pediatric patients throughout procedures, addressing their emotional and physical needs.
