Resident - Emergency Medical Services

• As a Resident in Emergency Medical Services, you will work under the guidance and supervision of experienced EMS professionals to gain practical experience and training in pre-hospital emergency care
• This position is designed to provide hands-on learning and exposure to the field of emergency medicine

Responsibilities:

• Respond to emergency medical calls, providing basic and advanced life support as directed by senior EMS personnel
• Assist in the assessment and treatment of patients in various emergency situations, including trauma, medical, and cardiac emergencies
• Safely operate and maintain EMS vehicles and equipment
• Administer medications and perform medical procedures as permitted by local protocols and under the guidance of senior staff
• Document patient information and care provided in a clear, accurate, and timely manner
• Assist in lifting and moving patients safely, considering their medical condition and injuries
• Maintain and clean medical equipment and ensure the readiness of the ambulance and supplies
• Participate in regular training, continuing education, and skills development sessions
• Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as agency policies and protocols
