We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Manager/Manager - Legal to join our Risk & Strategy department.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across various departments and business units while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, laws, and regulations.
Candidates with a background in the Oil & Gas, EPC, Construction, or Marine industries are preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents with high attention to detail.
- Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- Proactively manage and mitigate legal and contractual risks associated with the organization's activities.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel to resolve disputes and manage litigation effectively.
- Maintain and oversee legal documentation and ensure proper contract management processes.
- Support internal and external audits and assist in resolving legal and contractual disputes.
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of commercial and contract law to ensure smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the Risk & Strategy team to address legal and regulatory concerns.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
Educational Background:
Mandatory: Bachelor's/Master's degree in law.
Desirable: Master's or postgraduate degree in law, business, or finance.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of relevant legal experience in an in-house legal department.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas sector is highly preferred; candidates from EPC, Construction, or Marine industries will also be considered.
Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of commercial and contract law.
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in reviewing and drafting legal documents and contracts
