Sr. Engineer / Assistant Manager - Solid Works

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership:
• Assist in managing a team of SolidWorks designers or engineers.
• Provide guidance and technical support for design challenges.
• Delegate tasks and monitor progress to ensure efficient project execution.
• Design and Drafting:
• Create and review 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SolidWorks.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, client requirements, and organizational guidelines.
• Perform simulations and analyses to verify the feasibility of designs.
• Project Management:
• Assist in planning and prioritizing design projects.
• Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
• Ensure timely completion of tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Collaboration:
• Work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather design requirements and provide updates.
• Process Improvement:
• Recommend and implement improvements in design processes and SolidWorks workflows.
• Ensure the team is up-to-date with the latest SolidWorks features and industry trends.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of design files, revisions, and project documentation.

Skills:

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, simulation, and drawing creation.
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

• Certifications: SolidWorks certifications (e.g., CSWP, CSWE) are a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, or sheet metal design.
• Experience with PDM (Product Data Management) systems.
• Ability to train and mentor junior designers or engineers.
