Position Title: Assistant General Manager - Finance

Reports To: AVP Finance

Job Overview:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Finance will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the financial health of the company, and contributing to the development and execution of financial strategies. The AGM will supervise the finance team, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide key financial insights to the senior management team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
   
• Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance and trends.
• Develop and maintain financial forecasting models, budgets, and business plans.
• Monitor financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
2. Financial Reporting:
   
• Oversee the preparation and submission of financial statements in accordance with accounting principles and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare reports for management, shareholders, and regulatory bodies.
3. Cash Flow Management:
   
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity, ensuring that funds are available to meet operational and investment requirements.
• Develop cash flow forecasts and work closely with other departments to ensure optimal cash management.
4. Compliance and Risk Management:
   
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Oversee internal audits and ensure corrective actions are taken as needed.
• Manage risk assessments related to financial operations and investments.
5. Team Leadership:
   
• Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and resources to perform effectively.
• Manage the recruitment, training, and development of finance staff.
6. Strategic Decision Support:
   
• Collaborate with senior leadership to make data-driven decisions.
• Participate in strategic business planning, advising on financial viability and investment opportunities.
• Provide financial guidance and support for business expansions, acquisitions, and other growth initiatives.
7. Cost Control & Financial Efficiency:
   
• Identify areas for cost reduction and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or operational efficiency.
• Develop and monitor expense control mechanisms across the organization.
8. Stakeholder Communication:
   
• Maintain relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial institutions.
• Prepare presentations and reports for shareholders and board meetings.
