Assistant Engineer / Engineer

Role Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Mechanical Design & Development of New Products / Up gradation of existing Products assigned as per targets.
• Lead the design and development of new instrumentation products, including sensors, measuring devices, or analytical equipment.
• Utilize CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, etc.) to create detailed 2D, 3D models and design drawings.
• Apply engineering principles to design and improve mechanical and electronic systems that meet technical specifications and market requirements.
• Collaborate with the testing and validation teams to build prototypes, conduct tests, and ensure products meet functionality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Evaluate prototype performance through simulations and real-world testing, troubleshooting design flaws, and optimizing solutions.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to introduce innovative solutions into the product design process.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts, leveraging new materials, technologies, and methodologies to enhance product performance.
• Identifying & procuring of the new components for Product design & Development.
• Preparation of necessary documentation to the concerned departments
• Identifying the substitutes for obsolesce components
• Execution of the Pilot batch / W.O's in coordination with Production.
• Work closely with the R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into the final product.
• Coordinate with the marketing and sales teams to understand customer needs and feedback, translating them into actionable design requirements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and test procedures.
• Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company-specific guidelines.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of the product design, from conceptualization to prototype, testing, and final production handover.
• Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly, focusing on cost-effectiveness and manufacturability.
• Address technical challenges and provide solutions to engineering issues during the design and development phases.
• Work on troubleshooting and improving existing products based on customer feedback, field performance, and test results.

Competency:

• Understanding of materials like SS, MS, Aluminum, Plastic parts and also castings, mouldings, and sheet metal, including their properties and quality standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for 3D modeling and technical drawing creation.
• Understanding of electronic components and systems used in instrumentation (e.g., sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, etc.).
• Knowledge of Process like Moulding, Milling, Welding, Painting, Fabrication, Turning etc
• Familiarity with industry standards and certifications (e.g., CE, ISO, RoHS).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality design standards.
• Hands-on experience with instrumentation development and testing.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, sensors, or other electronic components used in instrumentation.
• Experience with regulatory and compliance processes in the instrumentation industry.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and industry-specific quality norms related to mechanical components and products.
• High attention to detail with the ability to spot defects and discrepancies in materials, components, and assemblies.
• Ability to identify root causes of defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to analyze data and trends to support quality improvements.
