Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible to provide leadership & accountability for assembly shop operations. Oversee & direct team members in a safe, quality-minded & productive manner to attain production priorities as scheduled. The Manager must possess excellent leadership & human relations skills, be decisive & responsible, & lead by example. The Manager must demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude & work toward continual improvement.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability & essential duties required to successfully perform this job.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for achieving Production department KPI s in line with the organization objectives. Major responsibilities of ensuring quality products and productivity of the department.

  • Responsible for Line Production, Safety & Quality activities.

  • Ensure daily OEE targets are met by focusing on Performance losses (Cycle time), Availability (Down time reduction) and Quality (Rework & Rejection reduction) and route same in TPM in SOC.

  • Conducting daily Line meetings/DWM to get review and guide on Safety, In-process Quality, Downtime, OEE, JPH performance and action plan review for improvement.

  • Attend the daily SCM meeting to understand PPC and dispatch plans, assess capacities and ensure deliveries as per plan.

  • Ensuring necessary support required from various departments to Shift in-charge for performing his duty like- HR (manpower), Logistics, Maintenance, and SQA etc.

  • Working hand in hand with Maintenance team for reducing Equipment down time by root cause analysis, CAPA, Spare parts management and training.

  • Making Preventive Maintenance plan based on priority and issue facing during production with Maintenance Assistant Manager and check the effectiveness.

  • Customer concerns handling on line along with Quality Assurance team:

  • Round table meeting, Containment, 8D resolution, 5 Why/ Root cause analysis

      • ICA & PCA implementation

  • Ensure quarterly Cycle time study done by ME engineer and necessary corrective action taken to maintain design cycle time also to set the new benchmark.

  • Responsible for Weekly MIS like- Safety performance, OEE, JPH, Scrap%, labor cost%, etc.

  • Ensuring 100% PPE adherence, LOTO and Safety procedures on line and lead by example.

  • Ensuring implementation of work standards and lean principle like 5-S, TPM, Kanban, etc.

  • Lead & participate in Significant Improvement Projects, GB/ BB projects, CFT and various committees.

  • Recommend measures for & participate in continual improvement of quality methods, equipment performance, product quality & lean manufacturing (optimize work, walk & wait)

  • React & follow through with all quality issues to ensure that no defective products are shipped to customers

  • Provide accurate daily reports on machine uptime, efficiency, JPH, scrap percentage & accidents/Incidents.

  • Follow the principles of the SKHM s Core Values.

  • Leader of production engineers and team members to include training & development, communication & enforcement of company policies & procedures, performance coaching & evaluation, & written documentation of team member performance issues.

  • Maintain an open & honest relationship with fellow team members & help develop this attitude; treat all team members with dignity & respect without favoritism.

  • Conduct Quarterly/ yearly performance reviews in timely manner and assist/ coach the team members to achieve Departmental KPIs.

  • Promote & practice safety first policy by addressing all hazards, defective equipment & unsafe conditions immediately.

  • Accident investigation, reporting & follow through of corrective action items for near miss & safety incidents

  • Ensure team member safety awareness through training, pre-shift meetings, & individual consultation; strive for continuous improvement in injury reduction

  • Discipline team members per company policies & procedures

  • Maintain effective communication & coordination with all internal customers, plant management & team members; maintain positive team member relations.

  • Follows & adheres to requirements of MAFACT, IATF & ISO14001 as required.

  • Handle confidential information on a regular basis.

  • Promote & facilitate Open Door process without reprisal, effective communication & Fair Treatment.

  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System & company policies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate in Mechanical/Electrical/Production /Automobile. Post-graduation will be added advantage.

  • Strong experience in Production/Maintenance background will be preferred.

  • Hands on more than 15 years experience on operations in medium / large scale manufacturing organization, preferably from an auto component manufacturing industry.

  • Exposure to TPM, Lean, and Six sigma is must.

  • Knowledge of SAP system

  • Experience in managing workforce, working in a unionized environment, familiarity with labor laws would be preferred.
