Role Overview
The MIS Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing digital data collection systems to monitor the mental health interventions of the Organizations Mental Health Program. This role will ensure accurate, actionable data to inform program effectiveness and community well-being, while also providing technical support and capacity building to field staff and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Support Digital Data Collection
Develop and manage digital tools for monitoring the program outputs and outcomes.
Focus on gathering data related to mental health outcomes, community well-being, and program impact as per the Theory of Change / program design.
Data Validation, Cleaning, and Analysis
Ensure collected data is accurate, consistent, complete and actionable for decision-making.
Clean and prepare field data for analysis to drive program improvements.
Digitize Data Collection Tools
Lead the transition from paper-based tools to digital platforms (e.g., readily available platforms like Goonjan, usage of tools like SurveyCTO etc.).
Customize digital tools to align with rural mental health program needs.
Training & Capacity Building
Train field staff of our on-ground partners on digital tools for data collection, entry, and troubleshooting.
Co-facilitate Train the Trainer sessions to train representatives from each location as the point of contact for efficient data collection.
Provide regular support to field staff for improved data collection, data entry, and verification.
Follow-Up on Technical Issues
Address and resolve data collection challenges to ensure seamless operations at partner locations.
Generate Reports and Dashboards
Develop regular reports highlighting trends and intervention outcomes for program staff and stakeholders (monthly/quarterly/annually).
Design and implement data dashboards to visualize progress and share insights with the team.
Prepare summary reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Integrate M&E Findings into Program Design
Use monitoring and evaluation findings (done by third-party external agencies) to refine program strategies.
Ensure alignment of collected data with program indicators.
Documentation and Coordination
Ensure accurate partner documentation and timely submission of reports.
Maintain documentation and support digital and PR teams with quantitative data for annual reports, impact reports, social media posts, and donor engagement materials.
Provide relevant data to finance teams for budgeting and to donors, as needed.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
4-6 years experience in digital data collection, especially in rural and low-resource settings.
Masters degree in Development Studies, Statistics, Economics (ideal but not mandatory) or a related field.
Experience with data collection platforms (e.g., ODK, Comm Care, SurveyCTO).
Experience with mobile device management in remote areas.
Field-based data collection experience in rural, underserved areas (preferably related to health or mental health).
Training and facilitation skills for training field staff in digital data collection methods.
Excellent documentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis.
Analytical contribution to improving the program design, implementation and monitoring.
Demonstrates curiosity to learn and has the willingness to take up additional responsibilities and collaborate with team members based on project priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with our on-ground partners leadership team and field staff.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently (with direction and guidance from the Head of Programs) and in a small team setting. Problem solving ability, adaptability, ability to translate ideas into action, teamwork and resourcefulness are highly valued.

Travel Requirements
Must be able to travel domestically at least 40 to 50% of the time to remote areas, at short notice.
