AQM Technologies - Software Test Engineer - Capital Market Applications (2-5 yrs)

Job Overview :

AQM is seeking experienced professionals from the Capital Markets domain to join our team as Software Testers for Capital Market applications.

This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in Front office/Back office/Portfolio Management processes and transition into the IT and Software Testing field.

You will be testing applications related to Investment Banking and Capital Markets, working on cutting-edge technologies in the financial domain.

Key Responsibilities :

- Conduct thorough functional, regression, and integration testing for capital market applications used in Portfolio Management, Wealth Management, and other front/back-office processes.

- Test the user interfaces (UI) and backend systems to ensure seamless interaction and data flow between different modules like RMS, OMS, PMS, and trade settlements.

- Identify, document, and report bugs, defects, and issues within the applications, and ensure they are resolved before the product goes live.

- Create and maintain test scripts and test plans based on business requirements and functional specifications.

- Leverage your understanding of portfolio management, mutual funds, broker-dealer systems, and loan processes to identify potential flaws in the system and to ensure that the application meets financial and operational standards.

- Work closely with the development team to provide feedback on functionality and usability based on domain knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Strong understanding of Portfolio/Wealth Management, Mutual Funds, Brokers/Dealer systems, and Capital Market Operations.

- Knowledge of RMS (Risk Management Systems), OMS (Order Management Systems), trade execution systems, margin management, client reporting, F&O trade settlements, and stock reconciliation.

- Interest in or prior experience with software testing methodologies (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience with the following is a plus :

- Manual Testing (creating test cases, executing tests, logging defects).

- Automation Testing (familiarity with tools such as Selenium, QTP, or JUnit is a plus).

- Test Case Development and Test Execution.

- Familiarity with SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and Agile methodologies.

Technical Skills :

- Familiarity with SQL for database testing and validating backend data.

- Knowledge of API Testing and using tools such as Postman or SOAP UI.

- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and testing in an Agile environment.

- Understanding of automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Shell scripting (optional but beneficial).

- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or Quality Center
