An Application Engineer for EV Powertrain Systems would be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing EV powertrain systems, including battery management, motor control, and vehicle integration, ensuring performance, efficiency, and reliability
- Understand electrical architecture of HEV/EV
- Define the system diagram of the EV Powertrain products like Motor, MCU, Rear Axle & Battery.
- Define the Motor and controller architecture, interfaces (electrical and physical), and functions for powertrain system of EV
- Define the high level and detailed requirements for powertrain systems and controls for EV
- Develop the powertrain functions and software, including logic development, MIL evaluation, HIL evaluation and vehicle level validation using MBD approach
- Develop diagnostics for powertrain Motors and controllers
- Implement ISO 26262 Functional Safety requirements
- Functional Testing, System/Component Benchmarking, and database creation
- Working with stakeholders within the organization and outside (suppliers, consultants) for above development
Technical/ Functional:
- Working experience of automobile EV powertrain system & controls in the L3 and L5 Segments.
- Exposure to Hybrid / Electric powertrain and ECU system & control Design, development, Verification and Validation. Familiarity with on board diagnostics.
- Experience in testing at vehicle level and MCU Flashing and fine tuning the products.
- Experience of Model Based Design with Matlab Simulink/State flow
- Experience in testing at controller level (HIL) and vehicle level
- Exposure to appropriate Regulations and Standards of HEV/EV such as AIS 038, AIS 102, AIS 048 etc.
- ECU testing, excellent electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of ISO 26262
