Role : Application Support Engineer
Location : Chennai (Work from Office)
A Software Support Engineer with sound experience in supporting Enterprise Scale Application Software with minimum 6-8 years of core Support experience. Experience in Retail domain would be a significant advantage.
Understanding of components of Java 3-tier applications, the overall technical architecture of the application, understanding of how microservices based architecture works, database queries using simple SQL scripts etc is essential.
The candidate should have the environment related troubleshooting skills understanding of deployment in various environment (data centre, AWS, Cloud and Azure), networking and security such as VPC, VPN, firewalls, subnetting etc. Knowledge on monitoring and trouble shooting skills (Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus).
The candidate is expected to have a very strong knowledge of Support processes, should be able to support the applications as per committed SLAs with customers. This position would require working on shifts on a rotation basis.
This is a hands-on support role and requires a good understanding of the applications, and ability to quickly interpret log files and identify the root cause of the issue. Should be willing to perform from Level1 to Level3 support at any point of time, to address the issue.
Installation of application patches and performing software application migration upgrades will be part of the responsibility of this position. The candidate needs to have sufficient technical skills in areas of Windows OS, setting up Application and DB servers in cluster environment, Database setup and configuration (SQL server, Oracle), Wildfly and Java services, IIS server setup and configuration and connectivity tools like RDP, VPN etc.
Excellent Verbal and written communication skills is a must-have requirement for this position and the candidate should be able to support global customers spread across Asia and the USA
Experience in JIRA ticketing tool and Atlassian application would be an advantage.
