Systems Engineer/Network Engineer

Role Summary: A systems technical specialist is responsible for the maintenance, support, and management of an organization's computer systems and networks.

Role & responsibilities

• Assist in the design, configuration, and deployment of IT systems and solutions tailored to organizational needs.
• Work closely with system architects and engineers to plan and implement system upgrades, migrations, and new technology rollouts.
• Design and implement system configurations, software, and hardware installations.
• Provide technical expertise in selecting appropriate tools, technologies, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with developers, network engineers, and security specialists to ensure proper system integration.
• Ensure that data flows between various systems are consistent, secure, and reliable.
• Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 technical support for system-related issues, including diagnosing and resolving technical problems.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to prevent future issues.
• Monitor system performance and provide proactive maintenance to prevent downtime or system failures.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of system components and configurations.
• Assists with the inventory management of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
• Assists with the purchase of software, hardware and other IT supplies. Promotes responsible usage and care of corporate equipment.
• Assists in administering and maintaining local and web-based versions of our tracking software. Assists in the administration and maintenance of Internal Systems programs
• Provides responses to internal clients in a timely manner

Preferred candidate profile

• A trained fresher (on Linux administration, Network administration)
• B.Tech (any branch) - Preferable
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) (or) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Preferable
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, VPN) and hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Strong understanding of security protocols and tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, access control) to secure system environments.
