About Alaan
We are an AI-powered expense management platform designed to simplify finance for businesses in the Middle East, helping them save both time and money. Our platform offers everything businesses need to manage and control their expenses in one place, including smart corporate cards, AI-powered automation and insights, streamlined accounting, and centralized dashboards.
Since 2022, over 800 businesses in the UAE from startups to enterprises like Al Barari, Rove, Rivoli, Punjab National Bank, and CarSwitch have used Alaan to control their spending and reduce costs. Together, our customers have saved over AED 100 million using Alaan.
About the role As a Frontend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing user interfaces that are both intuitive and visually stunning, using Next.js, React and Tailwind. You ll collaborate closely with UX/UI designers and backend developers to bring new features to life, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. Your expertise will be crucial in building responsive and high-performance web applications. If you have a passion for problem-solving and a keen eye for detail, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our product and its users.
- Working closely with the product and backend team to implement new features
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate designs into functional features
- Writing e2e tests using Playwright
- Refactoring and improving existing features of the product based on best practices, changing requirements, and feedback from QA
- Reviewing your peers code to keep our code base clean and extensible
- Exchanging ideas with the design team to improve the user experience
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to innovate and enhance our frontend stack
- High education degree from a tier 1 college (IITs, NITs, BITS)
- Previous startup experience is a bonus
- 2+ years of frontend experience with React
- Experience with Next.js, Tailwind, Radix UI, Shadcn UI, Playwright stack is a bonus
- Solid TypeScript knowledge would be great, but at least fundamental knowledge is required
- Ability to turn hi-fi designs into pixel-perfect UI
- Passion for creating delightful user experiences
- Good communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in English
