HIL Engineer - Electronic Control Unit (2-7 yrs)

Responsibilities :

• Develop the simulation strategy based on test requirements to achieve the departmental virtual validation objectives.
• Design and Commission Hardware In the Loop (HIL) rigs (dSPACE/NI/Vector) test systems.
• Responsible for specifying the BoM (Bill of Material) to enable the HIL platform setup.
• Provide rig modeling and rig system debugging to support the test needs.
• Day-to-day HIL rig maintenance to enable smooth manual and automated ECU software testing.
• Support the rig planning, test booking, execution, and ECU product defect debugging to leverage the maximum efficiency of the HIL rig software validation.
• Analytical skillset to interpret the data generated, and debug the issues to identify the root cause.
• Capture and log network signals, and plot and measure them as required by the validation team.
• Ensure virtual tools and HIL rig coverage for future model changes.
• Learn and integrate new technology/protocol hardware in test benches.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on the collection and measurement of data.
• To collate, manipulate, and interpret data that will be used to inform engineering decisions.
• To support continuous improvement activity with the goal of improving test efficiency and/or product quality.
• Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of measurement equipment.

• 2-5 years of experience in Automotive Domain.
• Electronic engineering background preferred and having good software programming skills.
• Proven experience in MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulation toolset.
• Plant modeling and Behavioural modeling experience, based on requirements.
• Proficient in using the dSPACE tool chain, especially ConfigurationDesk and ControlDesk
• Experience in interpreting specific test requirements and vehicle circuit diagrams into HIL test setup and wiring mapping to enable the ECU software system-level test.
• Good knowledge of vehicle architecture and vehicle network knowledge such as Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and FlexRay.
• Good working knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and understanding of ISO standard (ISO 14229-1) of vehicle (UDS) protocol.
• CI/CD DevOps understanding.

• Automotive control systems knowledge.
• Ability to collect and summarise customer requirements and align work with strategic themes.
• Proven skillset in Data analysis and reporting of test data.
• Good project management skills to enable HIL rig planning and efficient delivery.
• Knowledge of processing tools such as JIRA, SVN, and GIT is preferred.
• Working knowledge in AGILE would be an advantage.
