Position Overview Group Financial Controller

The Group Financial Controller (FC) is a strategic leader responsible for managing the financial health of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering accurate financial reporting. This role involves overseeing financial operations across multiple entities, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving financial efficiency in alignment with the companys IT-focused business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and execute the group’s financial strategy to support business objectives and long-term plans.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, board of directors, and senior management on financial matters.

Group Financial Reporting

• Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting to stakeholders, including consolidated group-level financial statements.
• Provide actionable insights into financial performance, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Lead the group’s budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Analyze and report on budget variances, providing actionable insights.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
• Implement and maintain robust internal control systems to mitigate risks.

Cash Flow and Working Capital Management

• Monitor and optimize cash flow across the group.
• Manage working capital to support operational and investment needs.

Cost Control and Efficiency

• Drive operational efficiency by managing costs and improving profit margins.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Audit and Taxation

• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Manage tax planning and filings for the group, optimizing tax efficiency.

Team Management and Development

• Lead and mentor the finance team across various entities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Collaboration and Communication

• Act as a key liaison between finance and other departments, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
• Present financial insights and recommendations to the board and stakeholders.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Financial Expertise: In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP), and consolidation processes.
• IT Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with IT-specific financial challenges, such as SaaS models, R&D costs, and technology investments.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in managing multi-location teams.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial systems and Accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of global compliance requirements, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, and taxation
• Professional certifications such as CA, CMA, or ACCA.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in the IT industry or related sectors is highly desirable.
• Proven track record in managing financial operations across multiple entities or geographies.
