Power Electronics Engineer - High Power BLDC Motor Drive Designer

Responsibilities

Design and Development

• Lead the design and development of power electronic drives for high-power BLDC motors
• Design and implement advanced PWM control strategies for efficient motor control Develop and optimize gate driver circuits for MOSFETs and SiC devices Create and maintain firmware for motor controls and associated production systems

Circuit Design and Analysis

• Design high-voltage switching power supplies for BLDC motor drives
• Perform electromagnetic simulations and thermal analysis for power electronics systems
• Optimize power converter designs using modeling, simulation, and statistical methods Conduct EMI/EMC analysis and design appropriate filters for power electronics products

Testing and Optimization

• Conduct prototype testing and debugging of power supply assemblies Perform design verification testing of completed products
• Analyze test results to define development actions and improve drive performance Project Management
• Lead technical discussions with customers regarding power electronics and vehicle drivetrain communication
• Develop FMEA and risk mitigation plans for power electronics projects Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, control, and software engineers

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or Ph.D. preferred) Minimum 5+ years of experience in power electronics development, specifically in motor drive design

Preferred technical skills and experience

• Extensive knowledge of PWM techniques for BLDC motor control
• Proficiency in designing with power semiconductor devices, including MOSFETs and SiC devices
• Experience with high-voltage and high-current switching systems typical in BLDC motor drives
• Strong understanding of inverter and converter topologies for motor drive applications Proficiency in power electronics simulation software
• Experience with embedded control of power electronic circuits specialized knowledge In-depth understanding of power semiconductor switches and diodes, including Si, SiC, and GaN technologies
• Experience designing and analyzing inverter circuits, including gate drivers for MOSFETs and SiC devices
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in PWM-based motor control systems Familiarity with thermal management techniques for high-power electronics

• Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment and lead complex projects
