The Executive AO&CS (Security) is responsible for ensuring the safe and secure operation of the airport or airline services. This role involves implementing and maintaining security protocols, monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements, coordinating with relevant authorities, and delivering a high level of customer service to passengers. The position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage and resolve security-related issues efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations
Oversee passenger, baggage, and cargo screening processes in accordance with established security protocols.
Ensure that all security equipment (e.g., X-ray machines, metal detectors) is functional and regularly maintained.
Conduct regular checks of the terminal and restricted areas to identify and mitigate security risks.
Regulatory Compliance
Adhere to all relevant airport, airline, and government regulations (e.g., BCAS, ICAO, IATA standards).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in security regulations and procedures.
Prepare and maintain necessary documentation and reports for audits and inspections.
Incident Management
Respond promptly to security incidents or breaches, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
Investigate and document security-related incidents, ensuring thorough follow-up and corrective actions.
Implement preventive measures to minimize the recurrence of security lapses.
Customer Service & Passenger Assistance
Interact courteously with passengers, guiding them through security checks and addressing any concerns.
Provide clear instructions and information on security procedures to maintain smooth passenger flow.
Collaborate with AO&CS teams to ensure minimal disruptions and a positive customer experience.
Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with ground handling teams, airline staff, customs, and immigration officials to ensure seamless operations.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., security agencies, local law enforcement) to coordinate security activities.
Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to improve overall security and operational efficiency.
Training & Development
Conduct or assist in regular training sessions for security personnel and AO&CS staff on updated procedures and best practices.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of security staff, providing feedback and support for continuous improvement.
Promote a culture of safety and security awareness throughout the organization.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to enhance security processes, systems, and equipment.
Recommend improvements or new technologies to senior management for more effective security operations.
