Junior Backend Developer

Job Description - Node JS

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Node.js Developer with at least 1+ years of experience to join our team. You will be responsible for developing server side applications, APIs, and services that power our web and mobile applications. Your role will include building scalable and efficient back-end systems while working closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain backend applications and APIs using Node.js and related technologies.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that is scalable and modular.

Design, implement, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to handle high-traffic applications.

Work with databases (SQL/NoSQL) to design data models, manage data storage, and optimize query performance.

Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

Implement real-time data features using technologies such as WebSockets.

Ensure the security of the application by implementing best practices and authentication mechanisms.

Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and minimize bugs.

Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve them in a timely manner.

Stay updated on the latest trends in Node.js development and implement best practices in backend development.

Requirements:

At least 1-2 years of experience in Node.js development.

Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), asynchronous programming, and event-driven architecture.

Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.

Experience with database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.

Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).

Experience with authentication and authorization protocols such as JWT, OAuth, and sessions.

Knowledge of version control tools, particularly Git.

Strong understanding of security and data protection principles.

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues across the stack.

Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with real-time web technologies (e.g., WebSockets, Socket.io).

Familiarity with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Koa.js, or Hapi.js.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
