Principal Engineer- Water Structures

Responsible for leading and managing water and wastewater projects to achieve specified objectives, which involves overall planning, coordination with lead offices and other disciplines, and control of the project from inception to completion. The goal is to deliver a functionally and financially viable project on time, within authorized costs, and to the required quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leading the project independently with a team of engineers and CAD/BIM technicians for design of water infrastructure schemes.
Excellent technical skills in design for Concrete and steel structures
Effectively control of commercial, managerial and technical aspects of projects.
Coordinate and collaborate effectively with the other disciplines.
Estimation and bid support for the new projects and schemes
Able to provide technical support to the project team and mentoring in upskilling team capabilities
Experience in complete life cycle of a design project within Water and Wastewater environment
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose alternative solutions for encountered issues.
Familiarity with international codes, including Eurocodes, American codes, Australian standards, and British Code of practices.
Able to work effectively in a diverse team spread across various geographical locations such as UK, Middle East, US & ANZ.
Familiarity with various software packages, ideally including MIDAS, Autodesk Robot, STAAD Pro, ETABS, and SAFE.

9 to 13 years of experience as a structural design engineer, preferably with a focus on water and wastewater-related design projects.

Strong understanding of safety in design and related practices.
Performs and ensures quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible to adopt new challenging tasks as per business requirements.
Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status will be advantageous.
