As the Director of Program Management for the DX Business Unit, you will be a key advisor to the VP of DX. In this role, you will drive strategic projects, coordinate with various Program Managers (PMs), and take ownership of the overall execution of key initiatives. You will ensure that all PMs within the organization work towards shared goals, maintaining focus on strategic priorities while driving operational efficiency.
What you ll do
Central Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other Program Managers across the DX Business Unit to ensure alignment and effective execution of central initiatives. Take overall accountability for the successful delivery of these initiatives and ensure that any issues or roadblocks are promptly addressed.
Leadership Accountability: Act as the central point of accountability for all program management activities within the DX Business Unit. Ensure that all Program Managers are aligned with the organizational goals and priorities, and provide guidance to ensure smooth execution.
Program Management Ownership: Be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of critical projects, ensuring that they meet timelines and objectives. Manage resource allocation and resolve conflicts between projects to ensure overall program success.
Communication and Reporting: Relay important business information to the leadership team, ensuring they are kept informed of the status of key initiatives, risks, and progress. Prepare detailed reports and presentations to update leadership on project outcomes and business metrics.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with PMs, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to foster collaboration and ensure that everyone has the information and resources needed to succeed.
Execution of Strategic Initiatives: Drive the execution of high-priority projects that align with the DX business unit s goals. Proactively find opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate effective communication across teams, relaying critical updates from Program Managers and leadership to all relevant stakeholders. Ensure that key decisions and actions are communicated and followed up on in a timely manner.
Problem Solving and Risk Management: Lead efforts to address challenges or risks that arise within projects, working collaboratively with PMs and other stakeholders to find solutions. Ensure that teams are equipped to handle and mitigate potential issues.
Operational Excellence: Implement process improvements across the program management function to drive efficiency and effectiveness in project execution. Optimize workflows, streamline communications, and ensure alignment on objectives.
Performance Monitoring: Supervise the progress of ongoing programs, ensuring that key achievements and deliverables are achieved. Use data to analyze performance and make adjustments where vital to keep projects on track.
What you need to succeed
Experience: More than 20 years of demonstrated ability in the software products industry, including substantial experience as a people manager.
Strategic Vision: Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to prioritize initiatives, align them with business goals, and drive successful execution across the organization.
Program Management Expertise: Extensive experience handling large-scale programs, including the ability to handle complex projects with multiple stakeholders and challenging priorities.
Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will need to clearly convey complex information to senior leadership, ensuring that key insights are relayed efficiently and effectively.
Analytical & Data-Driven: Ability to analyze data, derive insights, and use these insights to influence decision-making. Strong problem-solving skills are crucial.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience as a second-level manager in program management, business operations, or a related role, with significant exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience leading teams with varied strengths and ensuring that all PMs are aligned with organizational goals and execution strategies.
Technical Expertise: A consistent record of driving innovation and hands-on experience in technical program management within a product development organization.
