Assistant Manager - FP&A

1. Scope of the role

Responsible for business performance analysis and MIS reporting In-depth analysis of Key Performance Indicators/Key Value Drivers to assess operational and financial performance of the Business/functions/stores Prepare and monitor business performance against Budget/targets Prepare & analyze variance analysis reports & submit deviations to the Management for decision making. Prepare monthly presentation for discussion with the internal leadership team

2. Job Profile

• Sales Performance Analysis: Sales revenue analysis by product categories, brands, and store locations
• Comparison of sales performance across different time periods (monthly, quarterly, annually) and against targets
• Identification of top-selling products and trends in customer preferences
• Store Performance Analysis Store-wise sales analysis to identify high-performing & underperforming locations Evaluation of store-level profitability and cost analysis
• Comparison of store performance against benchmarks or industry averages
• Assessment of store productivity, including footfall, conversion rates, and average transaction values
• Inventory Management Analysis: Inventory turnover analysis to assess the efficiency of inventory management
• Evaluation of stock levels, aging of inventory, and sell-through rates
• Identification of slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommending actions to optimize inventory levels
• Analysis of product assortment and SKU performance to determine best-selling and low-performing items Financial Performance Analysis: Financial statement analysis, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Assessment of profitability margins, such as gross profit margin and net profit margin Analysis of cost structures, including cost of goods sold, operating expenses, and overhead costs and working capital cycle Evaluation of financial ratios, such as inventory turnover, return on investment (ROI), and return on assets (ROA)
• Management Information System (MIS) Reporting: Regular generation of MIS reports tailored to the needs of stakeholders
• Presentation of key performance metrics, financial summaries, and actionable insights in a concise and visually appealing format
• Timely delivery of reports to senior management, board of directors, and other relevant stakeholders
• Ad-hoc reporting and analysis to address specific business inquiries or decision-making needs

• Business planning, strategy planning Assist in preparation of detailed Annual Budget and strategic long term business plan by coordinating and collaborating with relevant stakeholders Prepare Quarterly presentations for Business Review Council meetings Digital Initiatives Drive automation of MIS reports and prepare Business Dashboards for CFO and Leadership team for on-line access of key operational and business performance data using digital tools (Power BI)
• Responsible for maintaining documents library for easy accessibility of key business documents/approval notes etc through a digital platform

3. Experience & Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst or MBA Finance
• Experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar role in retail business
• Good Business Acumen and understanding of business KPIs and value drivers of retail business
• Good financial expertise in forecasting, budgeting, treasury, hedging, costing, accounting principles & standards & taxation Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent skillset to develop complex financial models for evaluation of projects/Business plans Proficiency in MS Dynamics 365, SAP/Oracle, Excel, and MS Office tools
• Strong presentation skills and English communication
• Proactive in identifying issues and collaborating on solutions with stakeholders
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams Aptitude for continuous learning, improvement, and innovation
• Self-starter, hardworking, and willing to take on stretch targets
