Senior Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer with 4-8 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing special-purpose machines (SPMs), fixtures, and automation solutions, utilizing industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. The role involves end-to-end product design, from conceptualization to detailed engineering and prototyping, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs): Develop conceptual and detailed designs of special-purpose machines (SPMs) tailored to project requirements. Use CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create 2D/3D designs, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
• Fixture Design: Design custom fixtures using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software to meet specific project requirements for assembly, testing, and production processes.
• Technical Specifications & Documentation: Create clear technical specifications, design calculations, and documentation (drawings, reports, etc.) for SPMs, adhering to functional requirements, performance standards, and compliance regulations.
• Mechanical Design & Component Selection: Apply mechanical engineering principles to ensure designs are cost-effective, reliable, and easy to manufacture. Select mechanical components (motors, actuators, sensors, etc.) based on performance and design needs.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with electrical engineers, automation specialists, and manufacturing teams to integrate mechanical designs with overall system requirements and ensure smooth project execution.
• Project Management: Oversee multiple design projects, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet deadlines. Ensure the successful transition from design to prototype, with ongoing support for production.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement. Implement design changes as necessary based on testing, customer feedback, or evolving requirements.
• Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure that all designs meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Monitor design changes and iterations to maintain consistency and accuracy.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Education: Diploma Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: 4-8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, with a focus on special-purpose machine (SPM) or automation equipment design.
• Technical Skills:
  
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in designing custom fixtures for assembly, testing, and production.
• Familiarity with material selection, mechanical components, and motion systems (motors, actuators, sensors, controllers).
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to address complex design challenges, evaluate trade-offs, and optimize machine functionality and performance.
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, with a focus on meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients effectively.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and ensure smooth integration of designs across various functions.
