Job Overview:

UPC Solar India Private Limited is looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing electrical systems for solar power projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, optimizing performance, and supporting the successful implementation of renewable energy solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Design & Layout: Design electrical systems for solar projects, including power distribution, electrical panels, wiring, substations, transformers, inverters, and earthing systems.
• System Sizing & Modeling: Perform electrical load analysis, system sizing, and detailed electrical modeling using relevant software (AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, etc.).
• Preparation of Electrical Schematics: Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and other detailed drawings for solar power systems.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure designs comply with national and international electrical standards, safety regulations, and codes (IS/IEC standards, IEEE).
• Coordination & Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (project managers, civil engineers, procurement, and construction teams) to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs.
• Site Evaluation: Conduct site assessments and surveys to understand project-specific electrical requirements, conditions, and challenges.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Address technical challenges and provide solutions to improve the performance and efficiency of electrical designs.
• Documentation & Reports: Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and project documentation for internal use and client submissions.
• Project Management Support: Assist in budgeting, estimating costs, and timeline planning for electrical design activities, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
• Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks and reviews to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the electrical designs and systems.
• Research & Development: Keep up to date with the latest advancements in solar electrical design technology, and apply best practices in designs for efficiency and innovation.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) or related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in the renewable energy (solar) industry.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, ETAP, PVSyst, etc.) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including power distribution, electrical panels, inverters, and transformers.
• Familiarity with grid integration, energy storage, and off-grid solar systems.
• Good knowledge of electrical codes, standards (IS/IEC), and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on efficient design and optimization.
• Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning processes.
• Ability to prepare detailed electrical design documentation and reports.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and clients.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
