Key skills for the job
a) effectively managing the marketing function and supply chain.
b) conducting the following duties to ensure the continuous fulfilment of plant capacity
c) identifying current, seasonal and future market needs and trends, taking measures to promote new product portfolios and maximizing competitiveness to gain beneficial returns to the organization.
d) maintaining effective work relationships and constantly communicating with customers, customer representatives and business units in order to obtain and provide information on the areas mentioned below:
e) ensuring that a balanced team is available to meet the current and future business needs; monitoring the teams performance and providing performance improvement feedback, whilst developing plans to assist the team.
f) coordinating with the production and planning function, and ensuring that internal production plans are developed by considering factors such as resource availability, customer requirements and plant efficiency levels, while taking appropriate action to control and monitor the progress of orders from order confirmation to delivery.
g) analysing and reviewing consumption sheets and updating the relevant systems and preparing cost sheets to ensure that the appropriate prices are advised and communicated to the customer.
h) preparing reports and documents which include information on sales revenue, shipping schedules and product forecasts.
i) liaising with the production functions to facilitate the application of rigorous controls on all quality assurance processes.
j) developing an appropriate customer contact database, identifying key decision makers and undertaking periodic travel to meet with overseas buying offices or directly with the retailers
k) analyzing market conditions, identifying current garment buys and market pricing structures and liaising with manufacturing units to ensure that customer requirements have been identified and effectively met.
l) ensuring that the pricing strategies which are being employed are consistent and achievable.
m) gaining a thorough knowledge of the customer’s buying procedures and identifying appropriate service levels for each customer, so as to ensure that product presentation is in-line.
n) constantly reviewing the product range that needs to be added to the portfolio, liaising with retailers or visiting stores and following-up on relevant sampling requirements to identify business opportunities and required developments.
o) coordinating with the development team to obtain the necessary technical support, sourcing appropriate fabrics required for sampling and initiating the preparation of costing when required.
p) working closely with the development, technical, and manufacturing units and guiding and informing the designers, of different customers and their individualistic profiles.
q) performing the following duties when required:
r) ensuring that the marketing team is effectively managed, resourced and trained and that the appropriate targets are achieved to meet agreed business objectives.
s) participating in the preparation of the annual departmental budget and carrying out periodic reviews to ensure that expenses are in-line with the projections.
