Job Title: Tax and Finance Manager

Location: Tanzania, East Africa

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking dynamic and experienced professionals to lead and manage the Tax and Finance functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxation, financial planning, and reporting, with excellent leadership and strategic skills. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and collaborative team while contributing to the financial and operational success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Taxation & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements under direct and indirect taxes.
• Review and approve tax liability computations and monitor amendments in tax laws.
• Handle queries, audits, and communications with tax authorities.
• Identify and implement process improvements for efficient tax filing and compliance.
• Provide technical support on taxation issues and assist with tax-related book entries.

Financial Planning & Reporting:

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare accurate financial reports for management and stakeholders.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
• Collaborate with business teams to support financial decision-making.

People Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and tax team of 10-15 members.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Client Relations & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders while ensuring service excellence.
• Support engagement teams in performance improvement and process optimization.

Administrative & Compliance Functions:

• Ensure accurate time reporting and manage financial records with integrity.
• Liaise with consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities for financial and tax compliance.
• Assist in pursuing new business opportunities and collection of receivables.

Qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience, including 3 years in a managerial role.
• Experience handling tax cases and managing compliance audits.
• Proficiency in financial software (Tally, ERP) and MS Office tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Net yearly salary (savings) starting from $15,000 and ranging up-to $36,000 (Negotiable).
• In addition to the above savings, a local allowance per month in local currency to cover day to day living expenses.
• Bachelors accommodation for the first 6 months and family accommodation thereafter.
• Medical bill reimbursements up to one months local net salary and medical insurance coverage.
• 28 days of paid annual leave.
• Visa for self, spouse, and children (if any).
• Air ticket for relocation and periodic travel allowances, including spouse air ticket after 6 months and periodic travel to India every two years.
• Schooling facilities for up to two children.
• Local conveyance for official purposes and other benefits as per respective company policies.
