a). Coloring agents- to give colors to tablets, syrups.

b). Preservatives

c). Binders- to bind the powder form of API to make tablets

d). Sweeteners: to mask the bitter taste of drug.

e). Flavoring agents : to mask the odor of the drug.

g). Coating agents: to impart pleasant appearance of tablets & syrups
