Main purpose of cleaning the reactor or which we generally adress as vessel is to ensure none of the impurities or products of previously cooked batches doens't remain inside the reactor. This can be done be cleaning the vessel thoroughly with water, dilute acid cleaning, dilute alkali cleaning, distilling the water, or by adding and distilling methanol in the reactor. To ensure there is no impurities , you should take a sample of the water (after distillation is done) and submit it to quality control department to check whether any of the previous products are being present in the same. If there is no traces of previous product, then cleaning is perfectly done.
