Hair science is most important for hair dressers or stylist if you don't know about the depth of hair structure. You didn't give the perfect results. Hair structure is divided into two parts.
1. Hair roots :- hair roots is the inner part of epidermis layer where is hair growing. Root like a plant. Hair roots have six parts 
1. Hair follicles
2. Hair bulb 
3. Dermal pappila 
4.arrector pilli muscle
5. Sebaceous glands
6. Sudorifirous or sweat glands
2. Hair shaft:- which portion we can see with visibly  eyes. Upto 80% of hair services done at hair shaft. Hair shaft have three layers.
1. Cuticle layer 
2. Cortex layer 
3. Medulla layer
