Engine stroke refers to the movement of the piston within the cylinder during the combustion process.

Engine stroke is the distance the piston travels from top dead center (TDC) to bottom dead center (BDC) or vice versa.
There are four strokes in a four-stroke engine: intake, compression, power, and exhaust.
During the intake stroke, the piston moves downward, drawing air-fuel mixture into the cylinder.
In the compression stroke, the piston moves upward, compressing the air-fuel mixture.
The power stroke is when the spark plug ignites the compressed mixture, causing an explosion that drives the piston downward.
Finally, the exhaust stroke occurs when the piston moves upward again, pushing out the burned gases through the exhaust valve.
