Static RAM is mainly used as cache memory, it is relatively faster than dynamic RAm and it consumes less power.
it is used to store the very frequently used instructions by CPU.
In this SRAM, we are having there 3 levels of cache memory.
1. L1 cache: it is placed always inside the CPU,it runs at the same speed of the processor, and it is having lesser storage capacity to store very frequently used instructions bu CPU.
L2 Cache: it is called as external cache, as it is not always placed inside the CPU,
it is used to get recent data instructions from the processor which were not available on L1.
and L2 cache is slower in speed but it has more storage.
L3 Cache: It is also called as External cache or shared cache memory to be accessed by the CPU, and it is shared among all the cores.
