Find the odd ball among 9 balls using a balance in 3 trials.

Divide the balls into 3 groups of 3 balls each.
Weigh any two groups on the balance.
If the two groups weigh the same, the odd ball is in the third group.
If one group is heavier, weigh two balls from that group to find the odd ball.
If the two balls weigh the same, the odd ball is the remaining one.
If one ball is heavier, that is the odd ball.
Repeat the process with the remaining groups if needed.

Make sets: Make a 3set of 3ball each.

1st iteration: Put 1st and 2nd set of 3ball on two pan of balance,

case 1: if balance stays neutral then, remaining 3rd set will have that ball which is having different weight. So, take 3rd set of 3ball for 2nd iteration and ignore the rest.

case 2: if balance inclined/tilt, take that set for 2nd iteration.

Make sets: Now we got a single set of 3ball having one different weight, So make 3set of 1ball each.

2nd iteration: Put 1ball on either side of balance.
