Regression testing is done to ensure that the changes made to the software have not affected the unchanged functionality.
Retesting is a subset of regression testing.
Regression testing is done after every change in the software.
Example: If a defect was found in the login functionality and it was fixed, retesting would be done to ensure that the login functionality is working as expected. Regression testing would be done to ensure that other functionalities like registration, forgot password, etc. are still working after the login functionality was fixed.
