If I have to Deal with such kind of situation then I will have to be a good listener first rather being giving justification or focusing to make others to believe what I say. Because to Handle client especially Govt official (as in my case) you always have to face such situation and at the moment their initials on paper becomes more important that your logical and tactful advice. Listen to them being a part of their team coz you are the executive member. after listening, you focus on the facts and points which can make your client believe that for you doing the undwork is more important then arguing on something within target schedules and ask for their help for any hinderences as well. secondly, if decision has to be made then always remember, do always involve the decision making authority regarding the conversation and with their consent come to a solution. This will Help to get maturity level at your job profile
