To extend a filesystem:
- Extend the underlying LVM volume using lvextend command

- Example: sudo lvextend -L +10G /dev/mapper/vg01-lv01 && sudo resize2fs /dev/mapper/vg01-lv01
To reduce a filesystem:
- Unmount the filesystem using umount command
- Use resize2fs command to reduce the filesystem
- Use lvreduce command to reduce the size of the underlying LVM volume
