Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - HR called up and told that profile is shortlisted and we can keep face to face interview round. I asked HR, based on my prior experience, whether they are okay with the expected CTC and my work experience which I shared with them because earlier also, a few HRs could not proceed due to expected CTC and my current job profile. HR told that there is no barrier in terms of expected CTC and work experience, also added that they are looking for the same experience which I’m having. HR scheduled the interview.
On interview date, Round 1 was pretty fine and it went for almost an hour but Round 2 was pathetic. The interviewer grilled based on the expected CTC and reason behind switching from current profile. Besides giving the justified reason, he kept on asking the same question. After that, he told me that interviewer 1 told him that the candidate doesn’t know how to pass accounting entries (which was not the reality, I gave him the correct accounting entry). There are a few entries which are complicated and don’t deal with in usual circumstances. This was demotivating and further, though, I’m already working in a brand post-qualification, he went onto the question of number of attempts which is actually very demotivating plus asking a bit difficult questions which we don’t actually work on practically (however, such questions can be justified because we can expect anything in the interview).
It’s been more than a week and they haven’t even given the interview feedback, whether going forward or not, basically, wasting the time and money of the candidate.
Overall, there was lack of professionalism in conducting the interview plus if there is a facility of getting a virtual interview, atleast Round 1 can be conducted virtually and further rounds can be conducted as per the convenience.
Getting interviewed here was my pathetic experience.
