Experience: There was one round Technical cum HR Interview
For technical
The questions were on basics of power systems(Undergraduate stuff) but more oriented towards PGCIL work that is related to Transformers,Generators,Transmission lines etc.
Apart from this basic knowledge of HVDC were tested.also questions were asked related to the indian powergrid like voltage levelsuse of phasor ,measurement units,Interconnection of grids, major HVDC links etc.
For HR
They asked about my hobbies,schooling etc.general HR questions ,nothing peculiar
Tips: 1.Focus on the Basics of power systems(mostly undergraduate level)
2.Also go through reports(Technical,about future plans,enquiry reports of grid collapse) which found on PGCIL website and other websites like ministry of power,CERC etc.

General Tips: One has to be very confident and relaxed
Skill Tips: They will see how your knowledge in power systems help PGCIL .so Focus on topic related to PGCIL like Generators,Transformers,Transmission lines etc.

General Tips: It was held in Delhi at Nehru palace in year 1985 after an all India written test.I was recruited in ITI Ltd a month before and so was relaxed not to prepare much for the interview. I told the interviewers that I just finished my 2 ND semester of M.Tech. at Itbhu.one member was from IIT Delhi and I could not answer viscous damping, inertial damping etc for his question on types of damping and I was rejected.Selection was made of my 2 years junior of graduation college who too had joined ITI Ltd in 1985.
