Modular ups is nothing but a advance version of conventional ups which consist of power module as per load demand  requirement we can add the module

Isolation transformer is nothing but a power isolator between incomer to load side

And it can be minimize the THD 
DUE to this neutral lead to balance and no heating take place and there is so less chances to being a short circuit
