4 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Tips: Make sure your aptitude is very strong to get through this round.

Round: Other Interview
Experience: This round is the most enjoyable one. Do not prepare for this. Go in with an open mind and participate in all the activities.

General Tips: The experience with Thorogood was an exciting one. I look forward to joining the organization. I was offered the profile of business intelligence consultant. Make sure your interests and future goals match those of the company. Think about these things even before the interview. Please don't sit for companies that you actually have no intention of joining. This disrupts the process for many other interested students.
Skill Tips: Do not prepare for the last round.
Even if you get rejected by a company, don't lose hope. Sit for other companies and keep on working hard! Things will definitely go your way. Be yourself! Again, getting through the first round is pretty hard considering the number of students who sit for the test. Be quick and accurate.

3 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: 2 papers : First was an aptitude test which comprised of Maths, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. Second paper was subjective and had 2 questions which were based on your information about Thorogood and what you thought about their role.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Questions about internships, projects, etc. were asked.
Tips: Interview will be mainly on what you did in your internships, training or projects. Do not mention something you think you cannot justify in the interview. If you try to bluff, they will realize it easily and they will screw you real bad.

General Tips: An important thing is to be extremely clear about what you did in your internship and training and prepare yourself for presenting it to them. Being very thorough with your resume for every company.

Tips: Be quick with calculations. Try and arrive at an approximate answer and match with options
Duration: 45 minutes
Total Questions: 23

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was a resume based interaction. The interviewers were very friendly .
Tips: Just one decent project/internship is good enough.Be honest

Round: Assessment centre
Experience: The best way to prepare for the final Assessment round is not to prepare for it as preparation can hamper your decision making especially during case analysis and fact finding round.
Just read more about Business Intelligence before you head to Bangalore.

General Tips: Not getting an internship after third year is actually a blessing provided one prepares well.
Make up your mind whether you want to go for software/core/analytics and prepare accordingly.
I did not plan my preparation for software profile well enough hence i can talk about the preparations required for analytics domain.
Make sure your apti skills are very strong if you want to clear the first round of companies like Thorogood ,Capital One etc as almost the entire college appears for it.
Practice levels II & III of Arun Sharma of both Quant as well as DI.

4 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: In First round, 2 tests + 2 essays, both tests on logical reasoning and data analysis, essays on general topics like - what is the biggest problem faced by you in college, did u solve it? if yes, how? if no, why?(same question was again asked in the interview). Time-  First test 15mins, 2nd test 1 hour, 2 essays 20 mins. CGPA cutoff was 7 to write first round.
Duration: 15-60 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Second round was interview in campus. 30mins to an hour. Nothing technical. Just casual conversation. About 35 people were shortlisted based on the test.

Round: personality assessment
Experience: Third round, personality assessment in company office, Bangalore. From 8:30AM till 6PM. Four rounds, but they all will be going on simultaneously. (1) a case study was given, we had to find optimum solution for it and prepare slides, then present it. Time was 90mins+10mins for presentation, individual round. (2) a case was given for which one of the interviewer has the clues with him. we got 10mins to think about the case and prepare Q's, then 20mins to ask him those Q's and get answers, and based on those answers, give an optimum solution in 5mins, then justify your decision and answer their questions. There were 3 interviewers, an individual round (3) we were given miniature airplanes, cars, trucks, trees, runways etc., and a case study about an island where we needed to build an airport. This was group activity. And at the end we had to tell what our contribution was. 6 interviewers just sat there and took down points. (4) Final round- Personal interview, for about 45mins. 10 of us were shortlisted for this round (8 B.Tech., 2 MCA)

General Tips: Do not try to boost too much though. Be calm and friendly. Try not to freak out when they cross-question. It is better to have mock interviews with friends beforehand. Prepare a good answer for 'Tell me about yourself', as it will be the first question in any interview, and first impression is the best.
Skill Tips: Be prepared to answer logical reasoning questions and the essay. Sound genuine and confident. And be prepared for some general questions like your extracurricular activities, hobbies and stuff. Be thorough with your resume, the trainings/internships you have done, what you learnt from it, etc.
