Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Test consisted of 5 question only, 3 of them being hr questions and the other 2 being Analytical problems. Aptitude was a farce basically, shortlisting was based mainly Upon the resume only i believe.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Instructions were given out initially as to what the evaluators expected from the GD. GD started off with the usual points of pros and cons of the nuclear deal. The various Impacts of the deal were discussed in the process, both positive as well as negative Ones. Finally the group concluded that India indeed should go for the nuclear deal as The positive effects of the deal outweighed the cons.

Round: Behavioural Interview
Experience: There was no technical interview, but 2 interviews instead of that. First one was Called the "behavioral interview". Started off with the general questions about Myself.

Round: Guesstimate Interview
Experience: Then a guess-estimation task was given to me. Task involved guessing, by Estimation, the sales amount of a particular new product that a company is planning To launch. Interview lasted for some 20-25 minutes. Second interview was the "case Interview".

Round: Case Study Interview
Experience: Here a management case was presented before me, whereby I was expected To come out to a solution to the given case problem. I was provided with 30 minutes of Time to solve the same, followed by a presentation of the solution to the interviewer. What followed was a discussion of the case, not just a presentation on my part. Whole Interview lasted for 1 hour 30 minutes around.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The "principal interview" was what is called as the hr interview in common terms. Normal question as to why to join ZS and why should ZS hire you and all followed. A Small analytical problem regarding distribution of resources was also given. Also a Situation on decision making was presented for which i had to find the most suitable Solution. Interview wound up with the interviewer giving me a chance to ask him. Anything about the company or himself, just like the previous two interviews. Appearing for the ZS selection procedure and getting selected was a very heartening Experience. The company took its time to find the most suitable guys for the job. The Treatment given to us was top notch, probably the best any company visiting the Campus had to offer. Lunch and snacks for arranged for all of us as the interviews Lasted throughout the day. The interviewers were very friendly people and after Sitting for a while with a particular interviewer you won't feel like you have met this Person for the first time, of course all of them were highly qualified too. They also Kept us involved in chats while we sat in the waiting halls waiting for our interviews, Which decreased the nervous energy within us by a very significant amount. Overall, That was a unique experience getting recruited by ZS associates.

Skill Tips: For the juniors, i would say that getting into ZS is not a cakewalk (though it was like That only for me). To get shortlisted only, you need to have a very strong resume, Which should be multi-dimensional (like a bit of sports, some other extra curricular Stuff, leadership representing experiences, prizes and award in various fields), along With a good academic record. 7.5 was the CGPA cutoff, so better have your CGPA well Above that. Additional skills, like knowledge for programming languages like c/c++ And linux and all is very handy if you are sitting for the general analytical Associate profile. Excellent communication skills are a must when you are applying For ZS or any other company. And listen to the PPT carefully and note down the points, This helps you in answering well the hr questions, like why you wish to join our Company. The company states clearly in its PPT as to what kind of people it is looking For, so that is the best answer to the posed question. Wishing you guys all the very Best for your placements. Hoping to work with some of you some day. ;)

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Quantitative: There were 2 questions. One was based on speed, distance & time and the other was on probability. Both of them needed a little bit of intuition and common sense.
Analytical: 3 questions were analytical and required subjective answers and thus a good IQ and writing skills were essential.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There were 8 of us for the GD round. We were then taken to the board room and were asked to sit in a circular fashion around the table. We were provided with notepads and pens, one per person. The topic was then announced by the panel members and we were given two minutes time to get prepared. Soon, we were asked to start the discussion. Over the span of 15-16 minutes, I brought to the table a few valid points such as the current national political scenario and the responses of many International bodies with regards to the deal. In the end, we were asked to summarize and conclude the discussion individually. Other than the GD, there was also a case study where I was given the task of analyzing a fictitious candy company's sales and set local goals for the salesmen. Also there was a round called 'Guesstimate' where I was asked to logically predict/guess the total number of cricket balls sold in India in one year.
Duration: 15 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: There was only one interview for me. It was a mixture of technical and HR. As far as the technical part goes, I was tested for my knowledge of engineering mathematics, probability distribution curves, etc.. I was quite prepared for these questions and answered them as I deemed fit.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was a thoroughly enriching experience for me. Initially, at the Pre-Placement talk, I was dazzled by the credentials of the delegation from ZS Associates. The manner in which the process of PPT was conducted was very professional and all the aspects were covered in the one and a half hour presentation. Although it was a very serious occasion, the delegation made me feel comfortable and were very encouraging throughout the process. All in all, it was a day whose memories I will cherish throughout my lifetime.

Skill Tips: My suggestion to juniors would be:
1)Brush up your intermediate and engineering level mathematics.
2)Keep yourself abreast of current affairs as they are of vital importance to sail through the GD and the Case Study rounds. 3)Improve your Communicative skills.
4)Have an idea about the 'Guesstimate' and learn how to logically approach a given problem.
5)A good statistical approach is essential to provide a convincing solution to the problem stated in the case interviews.
6)Be prepared for all kinds of HR questions.
7)Also, a high level of confidence and enthusiasm are sought after by the company.

5 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: I actively participated in the discussion. Every individual of the group presented their idea first and then the matter was discussed properly.
Duration: 40 minutes

Round: Puzzle Interview
Experience: 2 puzzles.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: They were mainly asking about the strategy of the market and were checking the computational skills, basic mathematics, general HR questions like Why you choose to apply for ZS, about yourself and they were asking for my contribution in team work and project handling activities and asking solutions for real life managerial problems. i think there physological tests in the interview process, continuous monitoring of our activities on and off the stage and evaluation of our personal and computational skills were the most important experiences in my interviewing process.

Skill Tips: I think for the first aptitude round, they selected from each branch those who solved all 5 questions and were having top CGPA in their class. After that, GD round selection was basically on your active participation, not over aggressive, giving opportunities to others, listening to them. In interview, they look for quick response from your side for any kind of situations.

6 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: There were a total of 5 questions-
1) Referring to like What u want in your first job, how ZS will help you in achieving this and how did u come to know about ZS.
2) Real time problem like if u have to urgently go somewhere and deadline is tomorrow, what will you do.
3) Tables of data are given and you are asked a question based on it.
4) Problem which requires ability to make equations.
5) Again a problem requiring Maths.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: In GD, quantity of your talk doesnt matter so much. Even if there are very few points from your side, you will get selected. The main thing that we need to remember is that we should be a part of the group. Never say NO to someone else's point. If u say NO, then it shows that you cannot work very well in a group. You have to speak for around 2 minutes in conclusion. So here it will be nice to appreciate others points and how u have learnt new points from others. Process is that there will be group discussion for around 15 minutes and then each person has to conclude for around 2 minutes.
Duration: 30 minutes

Round: Behavioural Interview
Experience: It is partly HR, they know about you. Then they gradually ask one question where you need to guess intelligently like - What are the number of street lights in Warangal. The question I got was that a peron writes a book which transparently shows differences in Christianity and Hinduism and he may even give the book for free. How many will read this book in India in its first year. You need to give proper reasons for your guess and not just a blind guess. (This interview is for around 30-35 minutes).

Round: Case Study Interview
Experience: A real time business problem with many tables of information with many questions in relation to interpretation of the data in these tables, eg: crearing a formula for some parameter. Duration- you will be left alone with papers for 30 minutes and then the interviewer will come and ask questions based on what u did. (total of 50 minutes).

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Partly HR like (why ZS) and some problems which require 11th and 12th standard Maths. (30 minutes).

Skill Tips: 1) Be very alert and attentive to all the questions that are asked.
2) Be confident with whatever you say but beware as they will surely again question why that answer.
3) There is not much preparation that you can do for ZS as it is more with your natural abilities.
4) Only preparation that u can do is that find and know about ZS properly.
5) It is helpful if you are good with 11th and 12th standard Maths and also CGPA helps to certain extent.
