Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Questions were based on fundamental concepts of probability. They weren't complicated but were tricky.
Duration: 20 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: We were a group of twelve people participating in group discussion. A few important things I did which helped me clear group discussion were
1. Started the group discussion without taking a particular stand.
2. Made relevant contributions through out and try to give a structure to the group discussion.
3. Gave many opportunities for others to speak and carefully listened to everyone.
4. summarized the group discussion at the end successfully.
Group discussion was a bit difficult to clear because of many participants in the group but managed because of prior practice and interview was no issue at all.
Duration: 20 minutes

General Tips: Have a back ground understanding of financial and economic aspects, practice real time formal group discussions and be very careful while attempting aptitude test.

4 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: No verbal and technical.16 MCQs 20 min ample time. Most of them require much calculation.48 out of 119 people got shortlisted.
Tips: Just be calm and clear headed. They test your basic understanding of basic concepts and analytical abilities.Pretty simplistic.
Duration: 20 minutes
Total Questions: 16

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: We were made into groups of 12.They gave us the topic when our group's turn came and gave 1 min time to collect our thoughts. At the end, each of us was asked to summarise.
Tips: Follow all basic rules of GD, speak proper english and convey your points clearly, speak relevantly, pay attention2 other speakers(useful when summarising), don't debate and raise voice, I felt content was as equally important as communication - think well and speak well. 7 out of 48 people got shortlisted.
Duration: 20 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Questions about resume, interests, company(heard of it before?), why interested in their job, what I expect from the job, what do you see yourself as in 2-3 yrs, if one I had a chance to do one thing,,what it would be.But one thing I can say, content matters; not just language though the latter is essential to communicate. 5 out of 7 people got the job.
Tips: Listen to ppt carefully, keep your resume ready, prepare to answer questions about your resume, your interests (better have a deep idea of whatever you state as your interest),don't bluff(bluff as less as possible), speak clearly and communicate well, follow all basic manners and code of conduct.

General Tips: Basically they test your understanding and analytical abilities - not much of preparation before hand is required. You just need to be clear about your concepts and have a good thought process.
College Name: NIT WARANGAL
Motivation: I just loved their no-nonsense, simplistic, straightforward approach, their criteria for selection and also the
interesting, challenging job in the sector of my preference (finance) with a decent pay in a company with a decent reputation which is not yet known to withdraw a job once offered.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The questions asked were more analytical and required a lot of thought process.A few questions from probability were asked, but they were a cake walk.
Duration: 20 minutes
Total Questions: 16

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Well there were around 10 students in my GD round. The topic had a lot of points while everyone in the group was
against it.I was the only candidate who spoke in its favor.
Duration: 30 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The HR round went very smooth.I was asked to tell the interviewers what I had written in my resume and while I
stated that in between a few questions were shot at me.I believe that my previous endeavors in various mathematical competitions did the trick.Overall it went very well and I never felt that I was giving an interview.

General Tips: Be very clear about your future goals. No company desires a candidate who will leave the company within a year so and must be careful enough to state the right words when in the interview.GD is not about talking more, its about being precise and concise. So avoid fighting/debating and do not use heavy gestures.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The quetions were tricky, but not tough.the only constraint was time. They were basically based on data interpretation and probability. The questions were long but simple, all you need to do is read fast and understand the question completely as quickly as possible.if that is done answering them is not a problem.
Duration: 20 minutes
Total Questions: 16

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There were 12 people in the batch I had my G.D.The topic was pretty simple,so content was not a matter. Most of us
including me,took an against stand and vied for India's unity, where i think scored in body language and attitude.
Tips: Never shake your legs, fold your hands, scratch your head or smack your lips during G.D.When others speak listen and appreciate.Nod your head when someone makes a good point. When u speak keep your calm, try not and fumble and only speak sense.Be humble, don't try and overpower others
Duration: 15 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The interviewers(3 of them) only asked me some things about myself and my plans for the future.I showed genuine interest in the job they were offering and also tried to speak fluently,as the job profile to offer needs fluent and well equipped in English. They also asked me about my extra curricular activities and I recounted all my achievements in that field.

General Tips: As it is a normal job you can secure it and at the same time apply for dream one's.Aptitude was simple.48 people out of about 120 cleared it,but G.D was another story, only 7 made it to the HR.So prepare well for G.D and do follow the tips I've given above. Finally five from seven got the job.
Best of luck.hope you make it.
College Name: NIT WARANGAL
Motivation: Ideal for me as my technical skills are not that strong. The company is an emerging one and might be the next to Infosys in data analysis field. It's based in one of the posh areas of Bangalore,so looking forward to working there.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: There was only one section in the aptitude test which involved critical reasoning. This was a very different kind of
aptitude paper compared to all the other aptitude papers I attempted. 18 questions, where you had to interpret the
information correctly. Questions varied from probability to data interpretation. Lot of questions which seemed easy
at first but were concealed traps.
Duration: 30 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: The discussion started off where most of the people tending to deviate from the topic which seemed to anger the
panel members. I simply stuck to the topic and listed out the reasons why it created panic. I tried my best to keep
it neutral towards the end when I concluded that it was inevitable for any such disease to be a pandemic and mostly
stressed the role of the media in spreading panic, and at the same time playing an important role in suppressing it
at a later stage.
Duration: 25 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was mainly a stress interview. They ask you to introduce yourself and take them through your CV. They asked
me what I understood of the company from the ppt. As I tried to explain to them what I understood of Mu sigma
from the company they kept asking questions about my perception of the company and what was a a part in the
company that made me think that this is the company i need a job in.They asked questions like goal in life, where I
saw myself after 5 years from now. Being an engineering student they asked me why I did not pursue a career in
software or look for a tech job. No matter what you answer they kept trying to cross question.I felt that the 20-25 minutes I sat with the panel was a test of how confidently I answered their questions. I tried to use whatever I had in my CV to impress them. No matter what I said, they always something to ask about it.

General Tips: I suggest that you try to explain to them why you are going for a business analyst profile properly because they wanted to only pick people they thought could explain this to them properly. If you think you didn't like engineering anymore and had more motivation towards a business profile, then just say it. I told this to them frankly and they simply smiled at my response. Set your priorities straight before you you enter the interview room. They looked mainly for confident people.
