5 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: I had a standard resume for this company as per our institute’s placement cell norms. I only changed my “Area of Interest” section according to the company.

Round: Test
Experience: The test had questions on aptitude and logical reasoning. The test was different for the two profiles. The Business Analyst profile had an aptitude based test whereas the technology based profile had both – an aptitude based test and a test having programming based questions. The programming part was not so difficult but the concepts of programming and data structures should be clear to ace the test. The aptitude test was simpler and similar to the CAT exam. No such specific preparation is required but a little bit of practise would help.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: The topic for my GD was “If you want to remove one state from India which one would it be?” The topic was very good as it helped gauge our views related to other states culture and how we perceive things.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Format for selection was different for the business analyst profile and the technology based profile. For the BA it was a written test followed by GD and then an interview. While for coding profile it was two written tests followed by interview. In the BA profile’s first round puzzles of various kinds were asked – for example decision making based on clues and thereby reaching a certain result. In the GD the topic was that if you would like to remove one state from India which one would it be. Next in the interview I was tested upon my knowledge about the company (and other similar questions). I was also asked about my favourite website and in what ways would I further improve it? And how would I regulate a new MS Office version launch, not the technical coding part but the process in general.
Tips: Get to know more about the company. Visit its site and attend the pre placement talk to be well aware about its operations.
