Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Material I had was just resumes of seniors who got placed in my preferential companies. It's good to have lot many resumes to look at, but it's better to be focused on those kinds which suit your target companies. Then catch hold of a good lit. guy who can frame your resume points in a better way. This helped me to put more points in the given 2 pages restriction. Finally the resume was sent to all the seniors for proof read. Please note that it's not necessary to implement all the changes they suggest. Better try to understand why they proposed that change. Yeah, attending PPTs show you the kind of professionalism the company carry. Otherwise apart from those most awaited stuffs I didn't find PPTs of any help. No, I didn't talk to people before choosing but yeah after a bit of introspection and SWOT analysis of my own I chose the companies (by finding a right balance between the kind of job profiles I desire and what will suit me the best) and finally got a great feedback from seniors / friends.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Definitely, in groups. The more you work in groups the better probability of getting honest feedback. GD being a group activity had to be done in groups.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: As far as HR is concerned, general questions everyone is aware of; rest specific to various companies can be found out through people. To crack HR you need to be very much clear in your thoughts. What I mean to say is, you must know the answer of What, Why, How of everything you did, right from schooling. To do this, I just kept on writing about my life from schooling till IIT life of around 10 years, in paper. You will not appreciate the power of this until you do, but take my word that by the time you have accomplished this task you have got all the answers you were looking for. This will definitely, make all your answers (to the HR questions) seem quiet natural, in the interview (which most of the people are not able to do). For interview I made myself prepared for all the answers of typical questions then had various practices sessions with friends.

Round: Case Study Interview
Experience: Case studies I did some but just to get myself acquainted with these things because these are there in GDs only (for the kind of job profiles I was looking)

Skill Tips: These all are fart things, if you yourself are confident enough about the company. I hope I need not justify this statement. But yeah then also just don't step in the interview room with a wrinkled shirt. Just pull on something
formal which makes you confident. As far as etiquette is concerned, just be calm and compost. Try to make yourself relax and comfortable but do also keep in mind that you are in your job-interview.
