3 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Apart from the CAT questions, there is a section about automobile engineering. Again, Anything that might be a familiar topic to an automotive person along with a basic knowledge about current (indian)cars and the technologies.
Tips: Be cool and don’t take it too seriously.

Round: Interview
Experience: Technical followed by HR interviews.
Tips: Be cool and don’t take it too seriously; do take time to tricky questions.

Skill Tips: CGPA above 6 without any backlogs was the requirement. Preferably anything related to controls, materials, dynamics, etc. (basically anything that is a familiar topic to someone studying automotive engineering).

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Tips: Good knowledge of current topics of social, political, national and international importance will be helpful.
1. Be patient
2. Concentrate on time managment.

Round: Group Discussion
Tips: 1. Don’t repeat your point again and again.
2. Give others a chance to speak as well.
3. Listen to each and everyone’s points carefully (that will help you to make new ones).

Round: Interview
Tips: 1. Practice commonly asked interview questions
2. Be thorough with your projects

Skill Tips: Students of mechanical engineering must possess basic knowledge of automobile engineering. An average CGPA will be sufficient.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: You’ll find it easy if you are already preparing for CAT. It isn’t too tough and they test only core Indutrial Engineering knowledge.
Tips: 1. Prepare well for the test.
2. Take exam in groups.
3. Prepare for CAT and GRE.
4. Solve TIME test papers for speed.

Round: Interview
Tips: 1. Be confident.
2. Be clear about whatever you speak to them.
3. Memorise some real world example related to each topic. For example the use of the revolutionary algorithm and assembly line problems.

Skill Tips: There will be a section on mechanical engineering. IM students need to study for that. It’s better to have some managerial skills. Also be ready to write that you will work for a period of 10-15 years in TATA motors.
